Introducing A Three-Circuit Tone Bender Fuzz Pedal & The Ultimate All-Analog Ring Modulator
Introducing Warm Bender, accurately recreating two of the most iconic Tone Bender fuzz tones plus a bonus modern tone in one stomp box, and RingerBringer, an accurate recreation of the ultimate all-analog ring modulator with numerous controls for crafting experimental tones
Austin, TX – February 13, 2024 – Warm Audio, the leading manufacturer of faithful recreations of legendary recording gear and guitar pedals, announces the release of two new pedals that accurately bring back sought-after tones. The Warm Bender is a germanium fuzz pedal featuring three dedicated, selectable circuits that accurately deliver one of the earliest Tone Bender fuzzes & the Mark II Professional-style fuzz tone, plus a bonus silicon 3-transistor topology circuit for a more modern take on this legendary flavor of fuzz. The RingerBringer accurately recreates an all-analog ring modulation effect pedal from the 90s with LFO, MOD, FREQ & RATE controls for creating unconventional, experimental tones. Warm Bender (MSRP $199 | €219 | £209) and RingerBringer (MSRP $219 | €249 | £229) are available at launch at authorized retailers worldwide.
“We’re very happy to deliver accurate recreations of some of guitar’s most notorious & niche tones,” said Bryce Young, Founder & President of Warm Audio. “Warm Bender is like nothing else on the market in that it delivers three separate Tone Bender fuzz circuits in one stomp box for players to choose from, in a pedalboard-friendly format. Not only do you now have access to two of the original Tone Bender circuits but a brand new circuit that delivers a modern, distortion-like take on this legendary fuzz circuit. To top it off, we even added a SAG switch for guitarists who want that power-starved tone.”
Young continues, “With RingerBringer, we’re bringing back the full functionality and all-analog tone of a pedal that real modulation fans will truly appreciate. The beauty of this pedal is the ability to creatively craft tones, from subtle to aggressive, just like music trailblazers who used the original pedal including RadioHead, NIN, The Mars Volta, Jeff Beck, and others. This pedal definitely goes beyond guitarists and we think it will be a musical asset for bass & synth players, sound designers, and producers who want to explore the boundaries of tones & textures.”
Warm Bender
Warm Bender accurately delivers all the raw unhinged tones of the two original pedals using NOS germanium transistors to authentically reproduce the intricate playing response and unique separate circuits of the vintage two-transistor and three-transistor Tone Bender fuzz pedals. The first selectable circuit is a two-transistor fuzz with an NOS OC76 transistor paired with an NOS SFT337. This two-transistor, OC76-based flavor of fuzz boasts bright, edgy, cutting tones that can’t be ignored. Like the original silver and black BOX Tone Bender style of fuzz, the NOS 76 setting on Warm Bender delivers aggressive fuzz with raw grit and sharp attack. The second selectable circuit is a three-transistor fuzz with (3X) NOS OC75 transistors. Compared to the NOS 76 setting, the NOS 75 setting on Warm Bender boasts thunderous bass with smooth, wooly, and fat fuzz tones. Like the original 3-transistor, Professional MKII / OC75-based British fuzz pedal, the NOS 75 setting on Warm Bender reveals a saturated, round, “darker” sound reminiscent of the most riff-worthy British-made fuzz pedals.
The third selectable circuit, the Silicon circuit, takes the 3-transistor topology similar to the NOS 75 setting but replaces the Germanium transistors with modern, silicon components. This setting acts as a bridge between traditional Tone Bender fuzz and more modern distortion-like tone delivering smoother sustain, natural compression, and fuzz that plays nice in the mix. Additionally, Warm Bender features a SAG switch that recreates the special and unique sound of the original Tone Bender-style fuzz pedals when the batteries would die or the power was starved. These tones are ultra touch-sensitive, especially when rolling the volume off. The resulting playing experience is similar to tweed/mid-gain amps at the edge of breakup.
Each transistor in Warm Bender is hand-tested with tight tolerances for consistent performance, and every pedal is meticulously hand-tested and inspected by trained technicians in Austin, TX.
RingerBringer
From light Lo-Fi modulation all the way to the piercing sound of infinity ring-modulation, the RingerBringer accurately recreates an effects processor from the 90s, used to craft unconventional and otherworldly tones. Unlike digital emulations, RingerBringer uses a 100% analog signal path featuring TL072ADR Op-Amps & MMBT3904 transistors to deliver true-to-spec performance of the boutique original. RingerBringer connects to any instrument or line-level signal for tonal experimentation and sonic manipulation, on everything from guitar to synth to bass. Key controls for LFO amount, LFO rate, LFO Waveform Switch, Modulator frequency, and Modulator Mix provide access to endless tone-shaping possibilities. Through its numerous inputs/outputs and distinctive controls, RingerBringer delivers all of the sonic sculpting power of the original, vintage effects processor. Like all Warm Audio gear, every single RingerBringer is meticulously hand-tested and inspected by trained technicians with a passion for making music in Austin, TX USA.
