Safety Alert: Fire Risk from Line 6 Relay G10T Transmitters Requires Immediate Corrective Action

CALABASAS, Calif. March 16, 2021 — Line 6 is re-announcing its “recall-to-repair” of Relay G10 wireless transmitters originally recalled with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in March 2020. Line 6 is urging consumers to have their Relay G10 units upgraded immediately to prevent the risk of overheating and fire. Line 6 has received several reports of instances of extreme overheating and a risk of fire presented by the Relay G10T wireless transmitter since the product was introduced in 2016. All instances of overheating reportedly occurred during charging. The recall to repair is designed to prevent overheating and the risk of fire, and simply requires users to install a firmware update. The latest G10T firmware version is 1.06. Transmitters must be updated if they are not on this latest version. It takes about five minutes to complete this process. Owners of the Relay G10T transmitter should visit line6.com/g10t-update for instructions and further information. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Line 6 to receive a free repair for the G10 Family of Products, and a full refund for the G10T USB charging cable.

Description: This recall involves Line 6 Relay G10, G10S (G10SR), and G10T Digital Wireless Guitar System (G10 Family of Products) that allows an electric guitar to be connected wirelessly to an amplifier. The system consists of a transmitter, a receiver, and a charger. The receivers have both a 1/4” and XLR output to connect to an amplifier or other audio equipment. The products are black in color. The Relay G10T transmitter is stamped “Relay G10” and has a four-digit date code followed by a six-digit individual serial number.
