The FoKu Project
(26 January 2020, Aalborg, Denmark) Rasmus Birk, Assistant Professor at The Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg, Denmark, has headed a research project, which has resulted in a series of guitar lessons that is now publicly – and freely – available to all guitarists.
A collaboration between The Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg, Denmark, and Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, Italy, under the name ‘FoKu’, which is an abbreviation of the Danish words meaning ‘Research’ and ‘Artistic development’, has now resulted in eight dedicated tracks in different musical genres with a special focus on the guitar parts, as well as educational value.
The guitar parts have been carefully transcribed, and each track is available as a live performance video, as well as a guitar tutorial video lesson. The level is intermediate to advanced and is publicly available for free to all guitarists, who study on their own or for guitar teachers, who seek advanced material for their students.
