Four customized JTV-69 and JTV-69S Variax guitars used by Mad T Party band at Disney California Adventure will be sold to help raise money for MusiCares

CALABASAS, Calif.— October 16, 2017 — Line 6, Inc. today announced that it is donating all proceeds from the sale of four customized JTV-69 and JTV-69S

Variax® electric guitars previously used by Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure

Park, which ended its limited-time show in 2016. The proceeds from the sale will support the nonprofit organization MusiCares, which provides critical assistance to members of the music community.

Inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, the Mad T Party was a nighttime event that featured live musical performances, dancers, aerial acts, and more. The JTV-69 and JTV-69S Variax guitars used in the performance feature custom artwork by Disney artists, and are now for sale in the Line 6 online store.

We are pleased to help support MusiCares in their initiative to provide critical assistance for music people in times of need, these custom Variax guitars represent a unique piece of Disney history, and will offer guitarists unmatched versatility, craftsmanship, and playability.

said Marcus Ryle, President, Line 6

The Mad T Party band covered songs by a wide range of artists from different musical genres, including Bruno Mars, the Beatles, Maroon 5, Prince, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, and more. The Mad T Party initially ran from 2012 to 2014, and then returned for the Diamond 60th Anniversary Celebration at Disneyland Resort from May 2015 through

March 2016. When the show returned in 2015, the band’s guitarist requested Variax JTV-69 as a way to quickly access the wide range of sounds and alternate tunings for which the Variax HD technology is known.

The JTV-69 and JTV-69S Variax guitars feature lightweight alder S-type bodies, one- piece maple necks with rosewood or maple fingerboards, precision components, and the highest-quality pickups, custom wound to master luthier James Tyler’s specs. Variax HD technology gives players instant access to the sounds of highly coveted, classic electric guitars, as well as sounds one would normally not expect to hear from an electric guitar, such as banjo, sitar, or 12-string acoustic. Alternate tunings, normally requiring a minute- long exercise on the tuning pegs, can be set and recalled at the twist of a knob.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The four custom guitars are now available to customers with U.S. addresses at https://shop.line6.com/ for $2,199.99 each, plus applicable taxes  and  shipping costs.
