Durham, NC – September 10, 2018 – Dusky Electronics is proud to announce the newest addition to its award-winning pedal lineup:
The Hypatia
A versatile distortion pedal with gain that ranges from ragged crunch to blown out, bludgeoning fuzz.
From singing, sustaining fuzz and distortion at one extreme, to crunchy, textured overdrive at the other, the Hypatia is a versatile overdrive/fuzz that produces a wide range of gain adaptable to a variety of musical contexts.
The Hypatia continues Dusky Electronics’ tradition of designing gear that both pays respect to the past and offers something new. “I spent the better part of a year nailing down this design,” says Chris Rossi, owner of Dusky Electronics and designer of the Hypatia. “It was important to me that it be versatile, sound great, and be musically useful—just like my other designs.”
The Hypatia features:
- A wide gain range
- An adjustable low end that can be tailored for any instrument across a range of musical styles
- Specially designed input buffer allowing for flexible placement in signal chain
- MOSFET-based output buffer that adds amp-like flavor and complements the pedal’s ragged, transistor-based core
- Operation from 9–18V power supplies

The Hypatia retails for $180 and can be purchased online at duskyamp.com or locally at select dealers.
