Snake Oil’s first foray into the world of guitar products has picked up an award for product design. The award for ‘Best Physical Product Design’ at The Drum Design awards (Ironically nothing to do with Drums!), was presented to Snake Oil in recognition of their “Marvellous Engine” and “The Very Thing” guitar effects pedals.
As mentioned by Drum Marketing Magazine “It [Snake Oil Fine Instruments] needed to create a brand that is distinctive, disruptive and will capture musicians’ imaginations. Snake Oil Fine Instruments was conceived as a tongue-in-cheek acknowledgement of the competition, adding a breath of fresh air to the sector.”
We would like to thank The Drum Design awards and give a very special thank you to The Pull Agency team for really bringing the ideas to life and for being a wonderful team of people to work with throughout this whole process.
Whilst the award is for the external design/look of the pedal, the Snake Oil team are equally proud of the internals and sound of the pedals. Designed by Chapman Guitars founder Rob Chapman and Zach Broyles from Mythos Pedals, the pedals offer guitar players a range of analogue gain tones.
Both pedals retail for £149 / $169 / €169, and are available to order now. Guitar dealers interested in stocking the pedals should contact Matt Hornby at
