Cort’s KX507 Multi Scale Marks Celebrated Return of Multi-Scale Electric

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA  — Cort Guitars unleashes a tonal beast with the introduction of the seven-string KX507 Multi Scale guitar. Featuring 25.5- to 27-inch multi-scale frets for enhanced playability, new multi-voiced Fishman® electronics, and striking aesthetics, the KX507 Multi Scale offers a multitude of assets for hardcore or extreme players — a combination that earned this model an Editor’s Choice Award from Guitar.com.

The new seven-string KX507 Multi Scale is the resurrection of Cort’s first-ever multi-scale guitar, the KX500 Multi Scale released back in 2018. Among multiple modern updates, the KX507 Multi Scale now has a multi-voiced Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker set, which enables the multi-scale guitar to explore limitless possibilities across the tonal spectrum. Fishman Fluence pickups are free from the hum, nose, and frustrating inductance issues that plague even the most coveted wire-wound pickups, revealing uncorrupted musical tone. The push-pull function on the volume and tone knobs, in combination with the 3-way pickup selector, unleashes the full potential of the humbucker set all while maintaining a simple look.

The tonewood selections for the KX507 Multi Scale offer much more than their striking appearances. The mahogany body and figured poplar burl top  — available in Star Dust Black and Star Dust Green finish — ideally complement each other to produce a warm yet punchy high-midrange sound that cuts through the mix with authority. The 5-piece maple and purple heart neck not only provides stability, but also a strong, focused sound in conjunction with the body’s acoustic resonance. The 24-fret Macassar ebony fingerboard (15.75-inch radius) is similar to rosewood in both look and sound, and produces a deep, rich tone with sweet yet cutting highs. The fingerboard has a distinctive raindrop inlay designed specifically for this model.

The meticulous designs of the KX507 Multi Scale improve the playing experience as well as the instrument’s natural resonance. The 25.5- to 27-inch multi-scale frets put the neutral fret on the eighth position for a more natural spread angle, ensuring better playability even on the lower frets. In effect, the design results in a tight, punchy low-end for the low-B and low-E strings on the extended scale length while maintaining the familiar feel and tension on the treble strings for speedy runs and string-bending. The individual hardtail bridge unit feeds through the body, resulting in greatly improved sustain, superb string separation for better articulation, and precise intonation.

The KX507 Multi Scale has a spoke nut hotrod truss rod that ensures smooth, precise setting of the neck every time. The updated volume and tone knobs are positioned for easier reach, while Cort Staggered Locking tuners provide easy and consistent tuning stability and string changes. Black nickel hardware provides the finishing touch on this cutting-edge design.

From top to bottom, and from each angled fret, the KX507 Multi Scale offers the high-end features players need to level up their shredding, blistering solos and down-tuned metal riffing.
