Vintage REVO Elektra Series of electro-acoustic guitars make their debut at Winter NAMM 2025
Whilst celebrating the company’s 60th anniversary and the 30th of its own highly successful Vintage guitar brand of fretted instruments, JHS are launching an intriguing new line of Vintage electro-acoustic guitars at Winter NAMM 2025, that combine the concept of both acoustic and electric guitars with stunning visuals and outstanding versatility.
Continuing with the retro lines and hybrid themes of the highly successful Vintage REVO Series of electric guitars, designed by world renowned UK guitar designer and hardware specialist Alan Entwistle, these captivating single cutaway, steel strung electro-acoustic guitars are available in Natural, Acacia, Gloss Black and Sunburst finishes with acacia, the chosen tonewood for the bound back and sides and tops or with a spruce top in a Natural finish.
Appointments that create the hybrid magic include the classic Vintage headstock profile, six-in-a-line chrome WJ01 E-Z Lock machine heads, bolt-on maple necks and 20 fret bound rosewood fingerboards with pearloid block inlay position markers.
As a standalone acoustic guitar, looking stylish with the reddish brown hue of the acacia bodies, offset with rosewood bridges, bone saddles and decorative soundhole rosettes, the Vintage REVO Elektra models project these warm, woody, sustaining tonewood characteristics, with a long-throw that’s ideal for clean and defined fingerpicking, rhythmic chords and lead lines.
Whilst the polished fingerboard offers the feel and playability of an electric guitar, the natural hollow body acoustic sonics are captured via an Entwistle XS75-ND-HG-N pickup housed in an acacia surround installed at the neck end of the soundhole.
Featuring neodymium magnets and low DCR winding with heavy gauge copper wire, this single coil pickup offers excellent response and dynamics and, for an extended innumerable amount of sonic permutations, the new Vintage REVO Elektra electro-acoustic guitars feature Entwistle’s ingenious ATN 5-way switching system, with an extended frequency range that enhances the pickup’s performance, from crystal clear acoustic sonics, to full-on warm, creamy jazz tones.
