From Pedal To Plugin: The First Hardware Pedal Born From A Virtual Amp
4th December 2025 – Madrid (Spain) – Dirty Boy is proud to unveil SilverBOY, a groundbreaking analog preamp pedal inspired not by a vintage circuit, but by a virtual amplifier.
SilverBOY is a fully analog amplifier simulator for direct LINE use, a high-detail preamp for your amp’s FX loop, or a tube-like drive/boost for front-end input. Unlike typical pedal design—where analog becomes digital—SilverBOY flips the script.
Originally developed in collaboration with Two notes Audio Engineering for the GENOME platform, the SilverBOY TSM-Ai™ amp captured the unapologetic spirit of the original Dirty Boy Preamp—capable of everything from clean sparkle to snarling, collapsing fuzz-soaked saturation.
The player response was so strong, and the digital tone so alive, that Dirty Boy decided to bring it into the physical world. Rather than designing circuitry first, Dirty Boy used the behaviour, response, harmonic content and power feel of the virtual TSM-Ai™ amp to shape the tone, then rebuilt it in analog form, developed by Danny Gomez and Roberto García.
The result is a touch-responsive, reactive, living preamp that translates the virtual SilverBOY voice into real circuitry: Detailed, dynamic and dialed to the edge — with bite, punch, bloom, tube-like sag and raw harmonic behaviour. Plug it into an amp, interface, or stage rig—your virtual tone has now become physical tone.
SilverBOY pedal features:
- Variac Simulator
- 2×12 Cabinet Emulation
- 3-Band EQ
- PREAMP OUT
- EMULATED OUT
- Stereo LINE IN with level control
- HEADPHONE Output
‘SilverBOY was born as code. Now it exists as hardware. It’s the first time we’ve built an analog circuit from a virtual amp — reversing the whole industry’s direction,’ said Danny Gomez, Dirty Boy owner.
