Orange Amps has expanded its Baby series with the Baby Terror, a compact 20-watt solid-state amplifier head designed for portable practice, rehearsals, small stages and recording. Launched globally on July 29, 2026, the analogue micro amp combines detailed tone controls with a footswitchable volume boost and studio-ready connectivity.
The Baby Terror retains Orange’s familiar lunchbox-style format, making the head compact enough for backpacks and desktops while providing the features needed for use in a band or recording setup.
Expanded tone controls in a compact format
The Orange Baby Terror features Gain and Volume controls alongside a full three-band EQ and Presence control. According to Orange, the amp can move from warm, rounded clean tones through classic crunch to tighter, more cutting drive sounds.
A dedicated “Tubby” switch allows more low end through earlier in the signal path. At cleaner gain settings, this adds body to clean and “dirty-clean” sounds. Players can switch the function off at higher gain levels for a leaner, more focused response when playing heavier riffs.
Footswitchable second volume for live use
A second, footswitchable volume setting allows guitarists to increase their output for solos, choruses or louder passages without changing the amp’s gain or EQ settings.
The feature is intended to give the compact head some of the practical flexibility associated with a larger stage amplifier. Orange also positions the Baby Terror as a portable second amp for situations where transporting a full-sized rig is unnecessary.
Effects loop and balanced recording output
Rear-panel connections include an effects loop for delays, reverbs and modulation effects, as well as a balanced line output with a ground-lift function. The line output can connect the amp’s preamp signal to a recording interface or live rig.
For studio use, players can record the preamp signal into a DAW and add their preferred impulse responses and plug-ins. This supports silent recording, quick demos and more detailed production workflows.
The speaker output supports 8- and 16-ohm cabinets, giving players the option to pair the Baby Terror with a range of speaker configurations.
Class A JFET front end and included carry bag
At the front of the signal path, the Baby Terror uses a single-ended Class A JFET design. Orange also includes a padded, custom-designed protective bag with the amplifier.
“The Baby Terror is proof that small does not have to mean less features. It is small enough to carry with one hand, but serious enough to become your main amp – however big your rig is.”
Sarah Yule, Managing Director of Orange Amps
