Flattley Pedals has introduced the Centurion 10 AE, a limited-style anniversary version of its Centurion transparent overdrive. The new model marks the UK pedal maker’s 10th anniversary with vintage germanium tube diodes, custom purple hardware and a distinctive paisley skull finish.
Announced on August 5, 2026, the Centurion 10 AE retains the three-control layout of the standard Centurion while introducing changes designed to give the pedal a different response and sound.
Vintage germanium diodes reshape the Centurion circuit
The most significant change is inside the enclosure. Flattley has equipped the Centurion 10 AE with vintage germanium tube diodes, which the company says produce a warmer and softer sound than the diodes used in the standard model.
The transparent overdrive continues to offer three controls:
- Volume: Adjusts the overall output level.
- Gain: Controls the amount of gain and overdrive.
- Tone: Adjusts the balance between treble and bass.
Custom anniversary finish and purple hardware
The Flattley Centurion 10 AE features metallic black paint combined with silver paisley skull hydrographics. Its anniversary styling is completed by 20mm purple anodized aluminium control knobs with laser-etched markings.
A purple halo LED light ring replaces the more concentrated light of a conventional status LED. According to Flattley, the ring diffuses the light to make it less distracting on dark stages.
The pedal also includes a purple laser-etched aluminium foot topper. Its larger contact area is intended to make the footswitch easier to locate during quick changes in live performances.
Handmade as part of the Platinum Range
Like other pedals in Flattley’s Platinum Range, the Centurion 10 AE is hand-processed in the company’s paint shop. Flattley says its pedals are handmade and hand-wired in the UK using high-quality components.
The pedal operates from an external 9-volt power supply and does not support an internal battery.
Flattley Centurion 10 AE price
The Flattley Centurion 10 AE carries a street price of $319, £259 or €319. Further details are available on the official Flattley Guitar Pedals website.
A demonstration of the anniversary overdrive is also available on Flattley’s YouTube channel.
