DOD and Morley have joined forces on a new multi-effect pedal that combines octave, wah and fuzz sounds in one compact unit. The new Wah-ocTo-Fuzz pedal is available now worldwide through local retailers and online, with a street price of $249.99 USD.
The collaboration brings together DOD’s 1980s FX35 Octoplus circuit with Morley’s classic 1970s wah and fuzz circuits. Designed for guitar, bass and keyboard players, the pedal allows musicians to use each effect individually or combine two or all three effects at the same time.
Three Classic Effects in One Pedal
The Wah-ocTo-Fuzz pedal is built around three distinct sections: octave, wah and fuzz. The octave section uses the DOD FX35 Octoplus circuit to deliver an analog octave blend with a glitchy character associated with 1980s octave effects.
Players can shape the octave sound using three controls: Direct Level for the dry signal output, Tone Control for brightness and Octave Level for the lower octave signal.
Morley Wah and 1970s-Inspired Fuzz
The wah section uses Morley’s Electro-Optical design and features switchless operation. Players engage the wah by stepping on the glow-in-the-dark treadle grip.
The fuzz circuit takes inspiration from Morley’s 1970s-era sounds. It includes an Intensity Level knob to control fuzz gain and a Fuzz Level knob to manage the overall signal when the fuzz effect is active.
Build, Power and Connectivity
The WTF pedal is housed in a rugged, lightweight cold-rolled steel chassis. It also includes a Morley buffer circuit designed to help protect the player’s tone within the signal chain.
The pedal features standard 1/4-inch instrument jacks for input and output. It runs on a standard 9VDC 300 mA center-negative power supply using a +9V DC tip-negative barrel jack. It can also operate with a standard 9V battery, accessible through a quick-clip battery door.
