Darkglass Electronics has released KosmOS 1.16, a major operating system update for its Anagram digital modeling platform. The update expands the unit’s processing architecture with Neural Amp Modeler Architecture 2 support, new bass-focused blocks, expanded Scenes management and workflow improvements for stage and studio use.
Announced in Helsinki, Finland, KosmOS 1.16 is designed for modern bass players, producers and engineers who need flexible tone-shaping, detailed routing and more precise control over complex digital signal chains.
Darkglass Adds NAM A2 Support Through Tone3000 Partnership
The central addition in the Darkglass KosmOS 1.16 update is full Neural Amp Modeler Architecture 2 support, introduced through a partnership with Tone3000.
The update adds three dedicated processing blocks: Neural Amp, Neural Pedal and Neural Loader. These allow Anagram users to run up to three simultaneous instances of NAM A2 Full, A2 Lite or A1 configurations.
According to Darkglass, this enables players to import custom digital captures created by a global community of more than 300,000 musicians and recording engineers. The feature allows users to bring the tonal characteristics of physical amplifiers, pedals and studio equipment into the Anagram platform without relying on the original hardware.
New Peggy Classic and Peggy Fliptop Bass Blocks
KosmOS 1.16 also expands Anagram’s internal tone-shaping options with new bass-oriented processing blocks.
The Peggy Classic block is designed to deliver a punchy, harmonically rich bass tone suitable for both clean tracking and more aggressive overdriven sounds. Darkglass positions the model as a flexible option for foundational bass tones used across studio recordings and live performance environments.
For vintage-inspired sounds, the update adds Peggy Fliptop and a matching Peggy Fliptop 1×15″ cabinet emulation. These blocks are aimed at players looking for tube-style warmth and the character associated with 1960s studio bass recordings.
HPF+LPF Block Streamlines Signal Chain Filtering
Darkglass has also introduced a combined High-Pass and Low-Pass Filter block. The new HPF+LPF block places both filtering controls into a single slot, helping users remove low-end rumble and harsh high-frequency content at the same time.
For live performance and recording workflows, this gives players a more direct way to prepare tones for a front-of-house PA system or DAW input without relying on additional corrective equalization outside the unit.
DSP Meters and Numerical Parameter Entry Improve Workflow
KosmOS 1.16 includes several user interface and workflow updates intended to give Anagram users more precise control over their presets and signal chains.
A new DSP Meters view can be activated through the advanced settings menu. The feature shows the processing load of each individual block in the active signal chain, helping users understand how complex presets affect the device’s available DSP resources.
The update also adds Type Parameter Values, a feature that allows users to tap a setting on the block screen and enter exact numerical values through an on-screen numpad. This is intended to improve repeatability and speed when fine-tuning parameters.
Expanded Scenes and Footswitch Customization
System integration and performance control have also been expanded. KosmOS 1.16 now supports up to 126 user-configurable Scenes, giving players more space to store, copy, rearrange and recall detailed system states.
The new Scenes Manager is designed to make larger performance setups easier to organize, particularly for players working with dense setlists or multiple tone changes within a show.
Darkglass has also added Behaviour Device Settings with customizable footswitch layouts. These include Mode Cycling options such as Preset to Stomp, Preset to Scene and Stomp to Scene, along with dedicated Up/Down behavior modifications for Preset, Stomp and Scene modes.
A Broader Update for Stage and Studio Use
Taken together, the new NAM A2 integration, expanded bass models, filtering tools and workflow features make KosmOS 1.16 a significant update for the Anagram platform.
For studio users, the ability to run multiple NAM instances opens the door to more complex capture-based signal chains, including multi-amp setups and pre/post-effect configurations. For live players, the expanded Scenes system and footswitch customization offer more direct control over how presets and performance modes are structured on stage.
