SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – Cort has expanded its single-cut lineup with the new CR300MT electric guitar. Priced at $899.99 USD, the model combines traditional mahogany construction with active EMG pickups, a 24-fret neck and a streamlined Black Satin finish.
The company developed the Cort CR300MT electric guitar for contemporary players seeking modern components in a familiar single-cut design. Its specifications place particular emphasis on sustain, high-output electronics and precise control over the instrument’s sound.
Mahogany construction and Black Satin finish
The CR300MT features a solid mahogany body, which Cort says is designed to deliver sustained resonance and warmth in the lower frequencies. A Black Satin finish gives the guitar a clean, understated appearance while keeping the contours of the body visually prominent.
Multi-ply white-and-black binding runs around both the body and headstock. The contrasting detail provides a clear outline against the dark satin finish.
Cort uses a traditional set-neck construction to connect the mahogany neck to the body. According to the manufacturer, this configuration supports mechanical stability and transfers string vibrations across the length of the instrument.
24-fret neck and active EMG electronics
The guitar has a 24.75-inch (628mm) scale length and a Micarta fingerboard with a 12-inch (305mm) radius. Its 24 nickel-silver frets extend the playing range, while a Graph Tech TUSQ nut measures 1-11/16 inches (43mm) in width.
Electronics are built around a high-output EMG 81 and 60 active humbucker set. Players can adjust the pickups through two individual volume controls, two tone controls and a three-way toggle switch.
This configuration allows separate adjustments for the neck and bridge pickups, as well as rapid switching between pickup positions. Cort describes the setup as suitable for players who require both tonal versatility and precise output control.
Grover tuners and Tune-O-Matic-style bridge
Grover Rotomatics tuning machines are fitted at the headstock to provide accurate adjustments and stable tuning. A Tune-O-Matic-style bridge and stop tailpiece manage string height and tension at the body.
The Cort CR300MT electric guitar carries a street price of $899.99 USD. Further product information is available on the official Cort website.
