Breedlove Stringed Instruments Announces Legacy Concert Koa LTD

If there’s one series that explores the concept of Distinctively Crafted Sound from the ground up, it’s the Legacy Series. These aspirational models achieve the pinnacle in design and sound for each body shape. Defining the target tonal qualities of each body style, exotic tonewood pairings are selected and construction designed to achieve surprising results. Every element that goes into these instruments is highly calculated, making for heirloom-quality instruments with incomparable sound. Purpose built for the specific sound each model is designed to achieve.

New to the series is a limited edition that pairs the golden hues and often-dramatic figure of koa back and sides with the strong, light and extended harmonic sound of Stika spruce. The Legacy Concert LTD has a voice that’s mellow and sweet while projecting with clarity, depth and volume. The visually stunning koa provides an aesthetic as rich as this instrument’s gorgeous tone. “The dream of mine for this build was to be able to bring the sweetness of Koa to the Legacy series so that its voice would bloom and develop a richness over time,” says Colin Besancon of its design.

The Legacy Concert LTD is built on a Breedlove’s most popular concert body. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The Concert works well when played fingerstyle, as a vocal accompaniment, or at a full strum.
