LOS ANGELES, CA, June 3, 2026Audeze has introduced the Audeze MM-520, a new Manny Marroquin Signature Series studio headphone designed for audio professionals, mix engineers and creators who need accurate low-end response and reliable translation across playback systems.

The MM-520 builds on the foundation of the award-winning MM-500 and adds Audeze’s SLAM™ technology, short for Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator. The system is designed to optimize air pressure inside the earcup, improving bass accuracy and spatial detail while preserving the mid-range neutrality associated with the original MM-500.

A New Manny Marroquin Signature Series Headphone

Developed in close collaboration with 18-time Grammy-winning mix engineer Manny Marroquin, the Audeze MM-520 is positioned as a purpose-built monitoring tool for professional studio work. According to Audeze, the headphone is intended to help engineers create mixes that translate consistently across different systems.

Marroquin’s credits include work with Kanye West, Post Malone, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars and The Rolling Stones. His work has appeared on more than 250 albums, including 40 No. 1 albums, 100 Billboard Top 10 albums and more than 40 Top 10 singles. Most recently, Marroquin earned a 2022 Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his work with Jon Batiste.

SLAM Technology Targets Bass Accuracy and Spatial Detail

The most significant update in the MM-520 is the integration of Audeze’s SLAM™ technology. The system is designed to enhance low-frequency impact and soundstage transparency without compromising the tonal balance required for critical listening and mixing decisions.

For engineers and producers, the combination of more controlled bass performance and detailed spatial imaging is intended to support more confident mix decisions, particularly when working on low-end-heavy productions or immersive arrangements.

Key Features of the Audeze MM-520

  • SLAM™ technology: Audeze’s Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator enhances bass performance and spatial imaging for a more visceral yet accurate low-end response.
  • Manny Marroquin tuning: The headphone was refined with one of the industry’s leading mix engineers for mastering-grade reliability and musical engagement.
  • 90mm planar magnetic drivers: Ultra-Thin Uniforce™ diaphragms and Fazor™ phase management are designed for ultra-low distortion and precise sound reproduction.
  • Easy drivability: High sensitivity and low impedance allow the MM-520 to be used with consoles, interfaces and laptops in studio and mobile production environments.
  • Improved comfort: Upgraded memory foam earpads are designed for long mixing sessions and feature magnetic attachment for easy replacement.

Audeze Positions MM-520 as a Professional Monitoring Tool

“The MM-520 represents the latest entry in our mission to provide creators and professionals with the ultimate monitoring tool,” said Sankar Thiagasamudram, Audeze CEO. “By adding SLAM™ technology to Manny’s signature series, we’ve created a headphone that delivers even more truth in the low-end while maintaining the signature clarity Audeze is known for.”

The MM-520 continues Audeze’s focus on planar magnetic headphone design for studio and professional audio applications. The California-based company says its products are engineered with advanced materials science, precision craftsmanship and a focus on accurate sound reproduction.
