The 2027 Bass Magazine Awards will become an official on-campus event at The NAMM Show, giving the annual celebration of bass players and music a larger role within the industry gathering. The awards show is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2027, at the ACC Arena sponsored by RCF.
NAMM and Bass Magazine announced the expanded partnership on August 11. The organizations described the awards as an anchor event within The NAMM Show’s live music and industry program, with lifetime achievement honorees, artist collaborations and performances planned for the evening.
Bass Magazine Awards become official NAMM event
The move follows the 2026 NAMM Show, where the Bass Magazine Awards featured performances by Primus, Green Day, Khruangbin, Marcus Miller and Blu DeTiger. The 2027 edition will be fully integrated into the NAMM campus, providing expanded access and a larger production at the ACC Arena.
The event recognizes established bass players, influential artists and emerging musicians. Bass Magazine and NAMM have not yet announced the final list of 2027 award recipients or performers.

Previous recipients and performances
Previous Bass Magazine Award recipients include Sting, Mike Dirnt, Justin Chancellor, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, John Patitucci, Laura Lee, MonoNeon, Blu DeTiger and Mohini Dey.
Past editions have included performances involving Tool, Green Day, Primus, Khruangbin and Marcus Miller. Presenters have included Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Victor Wooten, Tal Wilkenfeld, Nathan East, Leland Sklar, Derrick Hodge, Les Claypool, Justin Chancellor and Ronnie Ficcaro.
Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt described the 2026 event as “one for the record books” and said the band had “an absolute blast” taking part.
“Literally one of the greatest nights of my career,” said Primus bassist Les Claypool. “I knew it was going to be cool, but it turned out to be one of the most epic musical things I’ve been a part of. It was very humbling and heartwarming from start to finish.”
Further information about the 2027 honorees, live performances and event tickets is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Bass Magazine Awards will be one of several industry award events held during The 2027 NAMM Show from January 27–30.

- Thursday: TEC Awards, Backline Talk Awards and Bass Magazine Awards at the ACC Arena
- Friday: Parnelli Awards
- Saturday: Best in Show Awards and She Rocks Awards
